Summertime Gradness
Summertime Gradness was a long shot pitched by a copywriter and I to the heads of marketing. We often ran promotional campaigns for the graduation season as a means of increasing sales, but we also wanted this new campaign to have a distinctly summer aesthetic. For new graduates, this time of year is for making fond new memories and celebrating a time of freedom even if it might be short-lived. We argued to marketing that what better angle to sell a new smartphone than by promoting it as a way of saving new memories. Ultimately, they agreed and we ran the Summertime Grandness campaign.
Summertime Gradness Email
During my time at Cellular Sales, I was often the designer tasked with designing emails, most often as I transitioned to a more UX-focused role. The Summer Gradness email is an example of a promotional campaign email that departed from our usual brand image. I made use of the more orange-toned coral in our palette and made sure to implement the campaign’s assets into module images. The imagery was also very important for this campaign. Every image needs to depict young adults experiencing a fun summer together using their new devices.
